State Senator Shane Reeves (R-Murfreesboro) and Senator Bill Ketron (R-Murfreesboro) congratulated students, parents and the staff in the Murfreesboro Public School District for being identified as a top 10 district based on improvement in 6-8 grade English language arts (ELA).

The announcement came as a result of the TNReady scores which were released last week. The State Department of Education has released state- and district-level results for TNReady math, English language arts, science, and U.S. history.

"We congratulate our students, teachers, parents and administrators for making great improvements in English," said Senator Reeves. "The ability to get a great public education empowers our students to live their dreams and I am very proud of this designation as a top 10 district and all the improvements being made to earn it."

"Our students, parents and teachers can take great pride for the improvements being made in English in our Murfreesboro Public School District," said Sen. Ketron. "The hard work that has been done is reflected in the top ranking for improvement. We are very proud of everyone who had a role in achieving these gains."
