A serious auto accident occurred on Interstate 24 in Rutherford County just before the 1:00 hour Monday afternoon. The wreck involved multiple vehicles, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The Monday accident happened between Almaville Road and Interstate 840. The accident affected both directions of traffic.
