Shadowens Leaves MTCS for Blackman

December 9, 2008

image His primary color will remain orange, but Philip Shadowens is leaving Middle Tennessee Christian School to coach football at Blackman. After one-year at MTCS, he led the school to their first ever playoff appearance and a 7-and-4 record. Blackman principal Gail Vick made the announcement that Shadowens would be the schools third head coach Tuesday after he resigned at MTCS Monday. Shadowens will replace Bobby Wells, who was let go by the school after a 5-and-5 season. He rejoins the large Rutherford County schools next year in the new District 7-Triple-A and will coach against Smyrna, where he coached for many years - leading them to the 06 and 07 state titles in 5-A. Meanwhile, MTCS is back in the market for a head coach…their third since beginning a football program in 2006.
