Food and supplies donated for Gatlinburg fire victims were delivered to Sevier County Wednesday by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office employees and the Explorer Post.

Sheriff's employees, shoppers at Sam's and other Rutherford County residents donated enough supplies to fill a trailer. No more supplies will be collected at the Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Andy Pugh, who coordinated the drive, said first responder kits, food, hand sanitizer and wipes were dropped off at the Pigeon Forge Fire Department.

Cases of water, clothes and other supplies were taken to the Smoky Mountain Jubilee Warehouse where Tennessee National Guard troops helped unload the trailer with the employees and Explorers.

"They were very grateful," Pugh said. "They were amazed with what we had."

Pugh thanked everyone who helped make the drive a huge success.

"I feel like it's needed," Pugh said. "These families will be without supplies for a while. It was a blessed day."
