A shots fired call was reported to police in Murfreesboro on Christmas Eve around 1:00 Saturday afternoon. The report was in the area of Bellwood Trace Apartments and Naylor Avenue.

According to one witness, a subject in a gray Chevy SUV circled the apartment parking lot and fired several rounds from a handgun into the air. The man then fled the scene. No one was injured.

Police collected the shell casings that were left behind by the shooter, but an arrest has not been made. A total of seven .45 caliber shell casings were collected by police.
