Murfreesboro Police were called to the U.S. Post Office on Memorial Boulevard after a suspected "skimming crew" attempted a money order transaction.

Officer Patrick Rottero reports Postmaster Roman King was notified by Postal Inspectors of a skimming crew possibly using stolen credit cards or stolen card numbers to acquire money orders. The suspects were described as Russian or Armenian, one being a female, driving a blue Nissan Quest minivan.

Last Friday, a female fitting the Postal Inspector's description entered the Memorial location, attempting to purchase a 980-dollar money order. When the postal clerk went to ask her supervisor about the transaction, the suspect left the post office.

Other area post offices and the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office were notified about the illegal activity. The Memorial post office location didn't suffer any monetary loss.
