An 8-year old child allegedly taken by his father in Smyrna has been safely located in the Rutherford County area. 30-year-old Michael Swaney reportedly assaulted the childs mother with a switch blade knife and then took his 8-year old son Gabriel. The mother was treated and released from the local hospital in Smyrna.

An Amber Alert was then issued by the TBI around 3:00, Monday morning. Minutes later Swaney was located at a relatives home and taken into custody. Swaney now faces numerous charges dealing with the reported assault and child custody issue.
