Smyrna football continues their streak against La Vergne with a 28-to-7 win at home. Bulldogs sophomore quarterback John Turner, who was 7-of-10 passing for 142 yards, didn't even take a snap before his team was already up 7-nothing. Bryan Barrett has the call as D.J. Williams intercepts the Wolverine's quarterback Drew Howard less than a minute into the game...

Howard would throw four interceptions in the game, with Williams catching three of them. La Vergne would score with just under five-minutes to play in the first quarter on a one-yard run by Malik Gray to tie the game. Smyrna's first series on offense ended in a four-yard pass from Turner to Jordan Ligon. That gave them a lead they wouldn't give up. Two second quarter touchdowns by the Bulldogs gave them a 28-7 lead at the half, which was also your final score.

The Bulldog's Kyle Smith had 19 carries for 110 yards. La Vergne's Roshea Grays had 86-yards on 16 carries. Smyrna had 196 yards total rushing, 142 passing for 338 yards. The Wolverines had just 18 yards passing, 127 rushing for 145 total yards. Next week, it's non-district action for the two teams. Smyrna goes to Cane Ridge while La Vergne travels to Wilson Central.
