Former elementary school teacher Douglas Jett is jailed in lieu of $500,000 bond following his arrest on a grand jury indictment charging him with 25 counts of sexual exploitation of minors for downloading thousands of images of child pornography.

Jett, 57, of Old Jefferson Pike in Smyrna, became the subject of a child porn investigation on September 25th after a co-worker at A.Z. Kelly Elementary School in Nashville discovered pornographic items on Jett's school-issued laptop computer while assisting him to print a certificate. Jett subsequently admitted to Detective Mike Adkins that he had been using that computer to view child porn for years. He retired from Metro Schools on September 26th.
