The surprise snow over the weekend left many accidents in its wake. One was fatal, taking the life of 41-year old Bryan Delk of Columbia. Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Bennie Jennings reports that a 2008 GMC model C5500 diesel truck driven by 24-year old Jerry Price Mason of Tabor City, North Carolina, was traveling in the westbound lane of I-24, toward Nashville. He came upon traffic that was stopped for a non-injury crash at the South Church Street exit. Mason slowed the GMC truck to a crawl. Unfortunately, Delk's 2004 Ford Fed Ex van was unable to stop and slammed into the rear of the GMC. There was a rash of accidents all over Rutherford County, with even some major roads closed much of the morning.
