So What Will the New Murfreesboro City School Be Called?

Wednesday was the deadline to suggest a new name for the soon to be built Murfreesboro City School off of Veterans Parkway. The question now is – what names were suggested and which name will the schools choose? WGNS has asked for the list of names that were submitted and if and when we receive that list – we will let you know what names were suggested.

The yet to be named school will be located near Veterans Parkway and Franklin Road. The 13th city school will sit on 25-acres, which was given to the city by the Swanson family.

Director of Schools Linda Gilbert says from an instructional standpoint, the smaller footprint will make learning and collaborating easier...

It will cost the school system about 17-million dollars to construct the facility, which is under budget. It's slated to be completed about this time next year and open for the 2014-2015 school year.
