The Special Kids Race announced today that the 6th annual event raised $215,000 to help children with special needs served by Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center.
Over 3,000 runners and walkers participated in the 15K, 5K and 1 Mile distances on Saturday, April 8, at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic (MMC) in Murfreesboro. The annual event, presented by Murfreesboro Medical Clinic & Surgicenter, had expenses covered for the 6th consecutive year by its sponsors, allowing every dollar from registration to go towards providing therapy and nursing services at Special Kids.
Special Kids is a Christian therapy and nursing center for children with special needs. The Murfreesboro-based ministry started with one child in 1998 and has grown to serve over 3,000 children from 18 counties in middle Tennessee.
