The City of Murfreesboro will look to the idea of revamping SportsCom to the tune of $2.9-million dollars during the next City Council workshop meeting. SportsCom was built in 1987 and has seen little changes, besides the outdoor pool.  A new roof, weight room, heating and cooling system and elevator are just a few of the changes being proposed.

The council will meet during a Thursday night workshop in the Murfreesboro City Hall at 5. The workshop will focus on five year capital improvement plans in Murfreesboro.

In other improvement projects, the city plans to extend Veterans Parkway between Burnt Knob Road and South Church Street at a cost of $9-million.
