Stones River Mall invites local shoppers to give the gift of life this summer.

The local retail shopping center has once again partnered with the American Red Cross to host a Blood Drive from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16. Donations will take place on the Red Cross Bus, which will be located near the mall’s main entrance near Chuck E. Cheese.

“We host blood drives twice a year – January and July – as a reminder to our shoppers to give back to the community. Just a few minutes of your time can save up to three lives,” says Melinda Hudgins Noblitt, marketing manager for Stones River Mall.

All presenting donors will receive a free Ultimate Nachos from Buffalo Wild Wings and a coupon for a free regular-sized lemonade with the purchase of a pretzel at Wetzels Pretzels. Blood collected locally is also used locally, according to Patti Wright, donor recruitment representative with Tennessee Valley Region of the American Red Cross. She explained how the

TVR branch is the sole provider of blood products to all the hospitals in Rutherford County.

“Summertime presents certain challenges for collecting blood donations because school isn’t in session and families are typically on vacation,” Wright continued. “We encourage everyone who is available and willing to consider donating the gift of life.”

Please make an appointment to donate blood by visiting www.redcrossblood.org. Click on the “Make a Blood Donation Appointment” link in the upper right-hand corner, then enter “stones” in the sponsor code box.
