The National Weather Service sent survey crews out to north Rutherford County to examine damage from Friday morning's storms. The team concluded that damage from La Vergne, to Smyrna, to Walter Hill and Lascassas was caused by straight line winds and not a tornado. Winds up to 80 miles per hour caused damaged scatted across northern portions of the county. Damage includes a damaged roof at a BP station in Smyrna, damage to homes and businesses on Wheeler Drive in La Vergne, uprooted trees and downed power lines on Jefferson Pike and a roof ripped off a barn on Cainsville Pike in Lascassas.
