Suicide continues to be a growing problem in Rutherford County

Suicide continues to plague the mid-state and more specifically, Murfreesboro and Rutherford County.

In the past 5 days, there have been two suicides in Murfreesboro. Of the two, both were between the ages of 21 and 25 and both were males.

In year 2015, there were 280 suicides reported in Tennessee that were reported by those between the age groups of 15 to 24 and 25 to 34. The total number of suicide deaths in 2015 rang in at 1065.Of that number, 35 were in Rutherford County alone.

Another age group committing suicide at increasing large numbers are middle aged men. Shannon Huffman, Crisis and Information Services Associate Director with Family and Children's Services told WGNS News...
