It is finally here, summer time. This means bugs, weeds, and more time that the lawn needs to be tended to.

1. Watering - Using the proper amount of water and conserving water is important throughout the year, but the heat and lack of rain can lead to water deficits and drought.

2. Check it out - Evaluate your lawns color and texture to make sure there aren’t any signs of damage from pests or disease.

3. Year-round care - Taking care of your lawn year-round, not just summertime, is a great way to maintain a healthy law and prevent weeds, pests and disease. Unfortunately, sometimes insects from the lawn travel into your house. Hire pest control to keep them outside. To reduce the insects outside, you can treat the lawn for bugs such as fleas, ticks, and fire ants.

4. Landscaping - Lawns do tend to be the focal point, but it is also important to keep up with your shrubs and trees. This adds dimensionality to a home and increases its curb appeal and value.

5. Mowing - It is hot outside, so you may be tempted to mow your lawn in shorts and flip flops, but you need to take your safety into account. Always wear long pants and closed toed shoes when mowing.

6. Hydration - Keep yourself hydrated these hot summer months by drinking lots of water when you are outdoors.

Watering, fertilizing, and mowing are all essentials to proper lawncare. Sometimes there can be an underlying problem though, such as bare spots or damaged turf that can require additional measures.

Enjoy your summer!
