Suntrust Bank on Greenland Drive Faces a Possible Armed Robber - Reeves Rogers School Locked Down

Lisa Trail, spokesperson for the Murfreesboro City Schools confirmed that Reeves Rogers Elementary School had to be locked down on "Code Yellow" just before 2:00 Friday afternoon.

NewsRadio WGNS spoke to Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Kyle Evans who told us, "Officers responded to the Suntrust Bank at 1213 Greenland Drive in reference to an armed robbery. According to bank employees, a black male 5'8" - 5'10", thin build, approx. 30 years of age, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, and black shoes handed a teller a note demanding money. The suspect did not display a weapon but indicated he had one. A search of the area was conducted but no person matching the description was located."

As a precaution, Reeves Rogers School was placed on a brief lockdown. The FBI was notified and the Murfreesboro Police are assisting with the investigation.

Trail told NewsRadio WGNS the Reeves Rogers lock down was lifted when the Code Yellow was released at about 2:45 PM, Friday.
