A 28-year old Murfreesboro man was pulled over in his Kia because Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Hathaway had prior knowledge that the subject was driving on a revoked license. The stop of Lorenzo Brown was made on West Main Street.

When Sgt. Hathaway walked up to the car he noted, "I could smell an order of non-burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle." Sgt. Hathaway asked Brown if he had anything illegal in the car and Brown reportedly handed the Sgt. A bag of marijuana. When asked if anything else was in the car, the subject turned suspect pulled out a second bag that contained what was believed to be crack cocaine.
