Suspect in Smyrna Attempted Criminal Homicide Arrested, Released on Bond

On May 7th of this year, officers with the Smyrna Police Department responded to several 911 calls in regards to reports of shots being fired in the area of Old Nashville Highway and Davis Park Drive. After officers arrived they were able to determine that a suspect, by the name of Michael Williams, had confronted some individuals at a residence located at 11476 Old Nashville Highway.

According to an investigation by detectives, Mr. Williams became upset over some property that he believed belonged to him and as he was leaving, he allegedly fired shots from a handgun towards three individuals. A vehicle at the address was struck by a bullet, but the three people at the home were not hit.

32-year old Williams was arrested and charged with three counts of Attempted Criminal Homicide. The suspect was arrested this week in connection with the crime.

Williams, a resident of Burnt Knob Road in Murfreesboro, is now out of jail on bond. The bond was $45,000, according to Smyrna Police Chief Kevin Arnold. Williams is scheduled to appear in Smyrna General Sessions Court on July 15th.
