MPD Sergeant Suspended After Investigation

Murfreesboro Police Sergeant Sam Campbell has been suspended, placed on administrative leave by Police Chief Glenn Chrisman, for mistakes allegedly made while investigating the July wreck on Bradyville Highway. The wreck involved Rutherford County Sheriff’s Sergeant Ron Killings, who struck 11-year old Lakeisha White with his patrol car. Campbell was a member of the FACT team, fatal accident crash team. He has also resigned from his position as FACT commander. Campbell will not be paid for the 10-day suspension and will be on a six-month probationary period. Also, the assistant FACT commander, Sergeant Shawn Murphy has also resigned after receiving a written reprimand.

    1. Why has MPD and its leaders been displayed as the criminals?
    2. Why hasn’t the Sheriff made any comments or actions against Sgt. Killings?
    3. Why hasn’t Sgt. Killings been charged with this crime, which i might add is a felony crime, and/or demoted or fired due to the integrity issue at least?
    4. Why has Sgt. Campbell been labeled as the reason for this crime when he wasn’t even the command leader on site at the beginning of the investigation?
    5. Can u blame Sgt. Campbell for believeing in the Sgt. at the scene and believeing in a senior Sgt. detective that should have been a leader in telling the truth and doing what is right regardless of who’s looking?

    My point is a senior Sgt. with MPD believed in a senior Sgt. with R.C.S.O. and look what has happened. Basically you cannot trust anyone anymore. Integrity is shared by very few whether law enforcement or not. Sgt. Killings should have resigned immediately after this accident. Sgt. Killings should be charged accordingly and all civil prosecution should be paid out directly from Sgt. Kiliings not taken from the tax payers of the county.

    JUST SOME THINGS TO THINK ABOUT.

    I wonder who Ms. Davis is related to at the Murfreesboro Police Dept?

    She made alot of good points regardless of if or whom she is related to @ the Police Dept.
