Taste of Hope Announces Top Honors for 2014 Culinary Tasting Event

More than thirty restaurants and vendors took part in the eighth annual Taste of Hope (formerly named Taste of Stones River) held last month in the Belk parking lot.

The event raised over $40,000 for the Primary Care & Hope Clinic. The evening included entertainment from The Pilots and Mid South Mobile DJ's, a kid's fun zone with inflatables and games, and over 100 delicious food and drink samples.

Event attendees sampled the wide variety of culinary creations and cast their votes for top honors in categories including: 'Best Entrée', Best Dessert', 'Best Beverage', 'Best Booth', 'Best Beer', and 'Best Kids Zone Activity'.

Best Dessert: Gigi's Cupcakes
Best Beverage: Oscar's Taco Shop
Best Booth: Chuy's
Best Beer: O'Possum's Pub
Best Kids Zone Activity: Jump Jump Bounce

The Primary Care and Hope Clinic is a non-profit community health center that provides quality, affordable family health services for medically uninsured, underserved, Medicare and TennCare families in Rutherford County and the surrounding area.

"As the need for uninsured medical services continues to rise, the Primary Care and Hope Clinic relies even more on donations and support from the community," said Lisa Terry, Primary Care and Hope Clinic CEO. "The funds raised through the Taste of Hope will help us continue our mission to provide medical care to uninsured and underserved families and will also help us meet the growing demand for additional services."
