In celebration of Wilson Bank & Trust's 30th anniversary, the annual Summer Fest and Antique Car Show was held Sunday at Central Magnet School.

The 701 East Main Street campus was packed with memories for all ages.

In addition to the car show, there were inflatables and food was a fundraiser for Central organizations.

Central Magnet's Auto Club

As you know, the Stones River Antique Automotive Club sponsored a student club at Central.

Stones River President Jeremy Byrd told NewsRadio WGNS, "The organization purchased a 1953 Pontiac Chieftain in Portland, Oregon for the students to restore. We wanted the students to restore the vehicle and participate in The Great Race, a 25-hundred mile challenge that begins June 26th in Jacksonville, Florida and mainly follows the historic Dixie Highway to Traverse City, Michigan."

The vehicle will be driven by Central Magnet School's club sponsor, SRO Scott Culp. Students are not allowed to drive, but are given a set of instructions each morning, a stop watch--no GPS. They calculate run time daily and points are earned by their accuracy.

Since Murfreesboro is on the old Dixie Highway, a lunch stop is scheduled for Cannonsburgh on Monday, June 26th. That day starts in Chattanooga and ends in Bowling Green.
