There is a river on the outskirts of Tennessee that is unlike many other in the United States and it's a river that many from Middle Tennessee have visited. One of the things that makes it so different is that the Tennessee Valley Authority can literally turn it on or off.

Visitors saw lots of action on the Ocoee River this weekend. The river flows through the Southern Appalachian Mountains of the Southeastern United States. Whitewater competitions got underway this past Friday.
