Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop across the Ohio and Tennessee Valley region today (Friday).

The Storm Prediction Center has placed Rutherford County in an enhanced risk for severe weather. That's a level three out of five. From Nashville to the northwest, there is a moderate risk of severe weather, a level four out of five.

This is a substantial risk of severe weather the SPC and National Weather Service warns could bring very large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes.

If you have outdoor plans today (Friday), especially this afternoon and evening, please make sure you are weather aware and stay tuned to forecasts for the latest information.
