TSSAA State Girls' Volleyball Championships in Murfreesboro Wed. - Fri.

The TSSAA Division I and Division II State Girls' Volleyball Championships will be held Oct. 19-21 at Blackman High School, Siegel High School, and Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

This event brings in 480 athletes and approximately 8,800 spectators to Rutherford County. A total of 32 Division I and II teams in five different classes will vie for the title of state champions. These volleyball tournaments have been hosted in Murfreesboro since 1996.

"We are thrilled to welcome volleyball teams and fans from all over the state to Rutherford County," said Barbara Wolke, vice president of the Rutherford County Convention and Visitors Bureau. "The tournament keeps our hotels and restaurants busy and is a boost to our economy."

Admission is $8 on Wednesday and Thursday and $10 for the finals on Friday.
