Greenhouse Ministries is hosting a turkey drive on November 17 from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the hopes of receiving 500 turkeys from the community. Greenhouse Ministries will distribute the turkeys the following day, November 18, at their monthly Mobile Food Pantry event through their partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

Once a month, a sponsor pays for a semi-truck filled with food to bring from Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. For this Mobile Food Pantry and Turkey Giveaway, we will have two semi-trucks, sponsored by two separate donors.

Greenhouse Ministries co-founder, Jane Sharp, says she is looking forward to these two events.

"We live in an amazing community and it is such a blessing to see everyone come together to provide for those who are less fortunate," Sharp said. "We at Greenhouse especially enjoy these events since everyone can relate to the happiness of a family gathering at Thanksgiving. When we see others experience this same joy, it in turn increases our joy."

Cliff Sharpe who founded the organization with his wife Jane said that something as simply as a turkey can bring strained relationships back together...

If you would like to donate a turkey, come to Greenhouse Ministries on November 17 from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Greenhouse Ministries is also asking for volunteers for their Mobile Food Pantry and Turkey Giveaway on November 18, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Greenhouse Ministries' location. If you are interested in volunteering at the Mobile Food Pantry and Turkey Giveaway, contact Julie Young at julie.young@greenhousemin.org or visit their website to RSVP.
