Make sure you have your license with you and don’t drink and drive… That is the message from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. State Troopers will be conducting two road checkpoints on Friday and Saturday…
Drivers will be stopped for a safety and sobriety checkpoint from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, May 5 on U.S. Highway 231 South ( Shelbyville Highway ).
The checkpoint will be conducted by Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office as part of a commitment to make the highways and roads safer in the county, said Patrol Capt. David Hailey . Officers will check drivers for drinking and driving and other traffic violations.
Other law enforcement agencies were invited to participate.
The checkpoint is a partnership with the Governor’s Highway Safety Office. Officers will be paid through a grant from GHSO.
