Murfreesboro Police have at least two more cases of shots fired into apartments near the university to investigate.

The first occurred Monday morning at College Pointe Apartments. The 20-year old occupant of an apartment in the "A" building told MPD he awoke to find two bullet holes in his wall and window. He did say he was unaware it happened - he slept through it.

However, the building manager did report hearing what sounded like gunfire around 6am. Three 9mm Lugar cartridge casings were recovered from the scene and a detective called to continue the investigation.

The second incident occurred around 3:15 Tuesday morning at the Cross Court Apartments, which is near Evergreen Cemetery on Crossway Avenue.

When police arrived, an anonymous subject said he heard three to four gunshots coming from the Ewing Boulevard area.

MPD was then told a black male in a black Camero sped away from the parking lot at a high rate of speed, only to then exit the vehicle.

Multiple shell casings were found inside the vehicle, outside the "F" building. However, the owner denied involvement. He said he didn't know how the casings wound up in the vehicle.

Detectives were called to the scene to take over the investigation.
