UPDATE: Body of man found in Murfreesboro Creek identified

The body of a deceased man that was found in the area of Dodge's Store on November 27th has been positively identified. However, police are not releasing his name as they are still attempting to find his next of kin.

Evidently, the man was found in Lytle Creek under the bridge on the Cannonsburgh side of the road along Broad Street. The man was believed to be homeless.

Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Kyle Evans told WGNS, "The post mortem exam of the deceased found in the creek concluded that the manner of death is accidental or natural but the exact cause is yet to be determined."

Again, the identity of the man has been confirmed, but his name is not being released until police are able to locate his next of kin.
