The teen was apparently bullied to the point of stabbing herself in the stomach with a knife, which took her life. It happened Saturday in front of witnesses in Mankin Park.

La Vergne Police spokesman John Fesmire tells NewsRadio WGNS the case is still under investigation. Family members have reported seeing text messages on her phone, indicating she was bullied.

A friend of the family was even working with L-P-D to start an organization called "Stand Against Bullying" to bring more awareness to the issue. We have a link to that website at WGNSRadio.com, keyword Sherokee.

A GoFundMe page has also been set up to help the family with the funeral expenses for the teen.
