UPDATE: Man Accused of Stabbing Wife Arrested

Authorities have made an arrest in the weekend stabbing of a 32-year old Windwalker Court woman. Jeremy Kelly, age 34, was arrested in Aurora, Illinois, Tuesday afternoon at 1:40pm.

Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Kyle Evans tells NewsRadio WGNS Kelly was taken into custody with the help of the Chicago-based FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and is being held, pending extradition.

On Saturday, officers responded to the home of Jeremy and Sade Kelly to investigate a domestic incident. That's when they found Sade Kelly, who'd been stabbed 20 times in her face, torso and legs. The victim was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford and subsequently Vanderbilt University Hospital suffering from serious injuries.

Murfreesboro Police continue their investigation into a Saturday (6/10/2017) night stabbing at a home on Windwalker Court, believed to be a domestic violence situation between a husband and wife. Police have issued an Attempted 2nd Degree Murder warrant for 34-year old Jeremy Andrew Kelly, and they believe that he may have left the mid-state. (NOTE: Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.)

Sergeant Kyle Evans told NewsRadio WGNS that police had to break-into the Windwalker Court home.

According to the police report, the first officer arrived at 9:08 Saturday night, the door was locked. However, they could seen the victim covered in blood on the sofa with a knife in her leg.

Murfreesboro's Violent Crimes Unit says that 32-year old Sade Kelly suffered over 20 stab wounds.

Detective Jacob Fountain gathered evidence at the home, including a folding knife that was in the female's thigh. The Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services rushed the woman to the helipad at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, where she was then taken by LifeFlight helicopter to the Vanderbilt Trauma Center in Nashville.

The Department of Childrens Services is taking care of the couple's children.

A spokesperson at Vanderbilt Medical Center explained to WGNS that they were not allowed to release information about the condition of Mrs. Kelly, because victims of violent crimes get extra protection and anonymity from their assailant.
