The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, working with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, has arrested and charged Susan Smithburg in connection to the ongoing case surrounding her son’s disappearance from their Williamson County home.

On Thursday, March 27th, 16-year-old Christopher Smithburg ran away from his home on Rocky Fork Road in Nolensville. The TBI later joined the investigation at the request of the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney General Kim Helper.

During the course of the investigation, agents became aware of an incident in the family’s home, just before Christopher’s disappearance, that led agents today to arrest and charge Susan Smithburg, 52, with one count of Aggravated Child Abuse and Aggravated Child Neglect or Endangerment.

At the time of this report, Smithburg was being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
