We have an update on a motorcycle accident that occurred this past weekend in Smyrna. The wreck happened on Nissan Drive near Enon Springs Road Saturday. Police Chief Kevin Arnold told WGNS the 2001 Harley Davidson was being operated by Mark Sullivan of Smyrna. On the back seat was passenger Linda Sullivan. Both were transported to area hospitals and are still recovering today.

Reports indicate a Pontiac sedan being driven by Andrew Johnson of Antioch pulled into the path of Sullivan, causing the Harley to strike the car and wreck. We asked Chief Arnold if charges have been filed and he stated, “No charges have been filed yet but the investigation is still ongoing.”

This is the second motorcycle wreck in the month of June for that stretch of roadway in Smyrna. Two weeks ago, Michael Zack from Murfreesboro was driving a Honda Rebel down Nissan Drive when he was struck by an SUV turning into Sonic. He was flown by LifeFlight Helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center. We are told that he has since been released and is now recovering at home.
