Update: Name of Employee who Died in Nissan Accident at Smyrna Plant Released

A Nissan worker was killed early Sunday morning in the Smyrna vehicle assembly plant. The accident occurred around 1:30 in the morning on Sunday.  Dead in the accident at Nissan is 43-year-old Michael Hooper. The victim worked as a maintenance technician in the plant. Hooper had been with Nissan for the past 21-years. Details of what led to his death are not being released as an investigation is underway. 

In April of this year another worker died at the plant. In that case, the worker was contracted to work at Nissan through a company called Complete Automation. The death in April occurred in the System One Paint Facility in Smyrna.
