    Sad. Such a Waste!

    rjrassets,

You should learn somr of the rules of capitalization and punctuation.

A sad end to young promising lives…may their presense with the Lord be with eternal joy that brings those who mourn peace that surpasses all sadness.

My heart and prayers go out to these victims and their families. Now, to the critic… Haven’t you ever heard of “e e cummings”, one of the greatest poets of all times? He never used capitalization in his literary works. Do u txt?

Be careful how you point a finger at someone else–you still have three pointing back at you. Watch your spelling, Old Bill.

Such a waste. My prayers go toward their family.

Some, not somr. Yep, I goofed on that one.

ee cummings??? I know about his work, while it is good as poetry, sometimes it is rather difficult to read. Don Marquis’ “archie and mehitabel” are also cute and a fun (if difficult) read.

    But !

    1) This is neither a poetry nor literary forum.

    2) I do not believe that any of the contributors to this forum are typing by leaping headfirst onto their keyboard.

and, (here is the third one pointing back at YOU.)

    3) The English language is suffering enough without our fostering its demise in these posts.

I taught Alex in 6th grade and I cannot believe that people would refer to this accident as “such a waste,” and that adults would really belittle others on punctuation and such. A child is in the hospital fighting to be whole again, another lost his life, and many others lost a friend, a relative, a son, etc. This is a tragedy for all involved and I hope everyone can just stop what they are doing and say a little prayer for all three families. We should not spend our time criticizing eachother…we should focus on the important things here. May God bless these families and give them all strength, hope, and love to deal with the outcomes of this tragedy.

My prayers continue to go up for Alex, Douglas, the family of Joseph Butler, and the elementary school teachers who will not face their failure to teach the proper usage of our language.

Jesus Bill can you not post one damn comment with out saying something about grammer and proper use of language.

  13. Old Bill on October 30th, 2009 1:25 pm

    B,

I have posted many comments which do not call the illiterate to account for their part in weakening our society and culture. Do you have to use vulgarity in your posts?

  14. B on October 30th, 2009 3:03 pm

I do not have to use vulgarity.

  15. Old Bill on October 30th, 2009 4:40 pm

    B,

But you did. And you took the Lord’s name in vain. I will continue to pray for you, Alex, and the two boys who were lost in the tragic accident.

Alex is an acquaintance of mine and I’m praying he gets better. I’m sorry Joe had to lose his life and I’m glad Doug got off clean with his. Alex is still in bad condition but he is doing better. I’m glad it wasn’t a completely fatal accident. I am praying for Joe’s family that they have the strength to deal with this.

Got something to say?
