The resident, who lives on Majesty Drive, told police when they arrived home their cat quickly ran into the garage. Once inside, it was realized that the cat was bleeding so the husband and wife took the animal to the veterinarian’s office where they learned the cat had been shot with a pellet gun. The animal was put to sleep due to the injury.
The report noted that a neighbor later admitted to shooting the cat. M-P-D dispatch was notified and officers responded to the neighbor’s home where they placed Katherine Faith Duke under arrest. The local educator was charged with “Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.” Duke will appear in court on March 4, 2014, according to the arrest report.
The police incident report shows the suspect allegedly shot the cat because she as tired of it using her children’s sandbox as a bathroom.
