A large semi-truck hauling a trailer wrecked and overturned on Broad Street at State Route 840 in Murfreesboro Thursday morning. MPD Sgt. Kyle Evans told WGNS that no injuries were reported. Evans said the truck overturned while negotiating a turn.

When the truck flipped, it landed on its side with the cab of the big rig on the shoulder of the road, the trailer strewn across the median and the tail in the shoulder of the opposite lane. The accident led authorities to shut down the roadway at 840 in the outbound lane. No charges have been filed in the mishap.

City Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran told WGNS the roadway will likely re-open by 11:30 AM, Thursday morning. This will give crews time to clean leaked fuel from the truck and to actually up-right the 18-wheeler. He added that the entrance and exit to State Route 840 at Broad Street will remain OPEN throughout that time period.
