UPDATE: Rutherford County man charged in Cannon County Deaths

Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have arrested and charged a Rutherford County man accused of killing two individuals and injuring a third in a Cannon County incident from over the weekend.

At the request of 16th District Attorney General Jennings Jones, TBI Special Agents began investigating an incident that occurred on January 14th on Choctaw Drive in Woodbury. There, authorities discovered the body of 42 year old David Wooten (DOB 10-29-74), deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Two women also sustained injuries in the incident: 19 year old Elizabeth Clement (DOB 2-3-97) and 28 year old Laura Jastre (DOB 4-8-88).

Despite medical treatment, Clement subsequently died from her injuries. Jastre continues to recover at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information leading to 36 year old Robert Jesse Mount as the individual responsible for the incident.

This morning, Agents arrested Mount (DOB 12-5-80) and charged him with two counts of First Degree Murder and one count of Attempted First Degree Murder. At the time of this release, Mount was being held in the Cannon County Jail without bond. The investigation into this incident remains active and ongoing, with the assistance of the Rutherford and Cannon County sheriff's departments.
