Jones is charged with two counts of domestic aggravated assault for allegedly choking a female. Robinson and O'Neal are charged with aiding and abetting for allegedly videotaping the incident.

Coach Rick Stockstill stated, “I have decided to dismiss J.D. Jones, Rodney O’Neal, and Marcus Robinson from our football program. I took my time in making this decision, as I wanted to make sure I gathered as much information as possible.

All three men, 20-year old MTSU sophomores, were booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and later released.  One of the three men allegedly choked a girlfriend while demanding money for marijuana. The other two men reportedly videotaped the incident.

Coach Stockstill futher commented, “Their actions do not reflect upon all the good surrounding our football program. Every choice a person makes has consequences, good or bad. And unfortunately, their choice has led me to dismiss them from the team.”
