UPDATE: Unattended Death near Blackman Elementary School

We now know the name of the woman found dead near Blackman Elementary School over the weekend.

Murfreesboro Police Public Information Officer Amy Norville tells NewsRadio WGNS the woman is identified as 64-year old Carol Brandon. Her body was found in a wooded area adjacent to the Fortress Boulevard school on Sunday.

Norville reports Brandon had a previous history with the department relating to mental health issues and disappearing from her home for periods of time.

Brandon reportedly had last left her home Saturday (February 24th).

Norville says there were no signs of foul play, however a definitive cause of death is pending toxicology results. She says Brandon had no connection to the school.

Murfreesboro Police are investigating an unattended death near Blackman Elementary School.

She adds a cause of death is unknown but an investigation is on-going.

Norville does say the female had no connection to the school.
