Reports of rape seem to be on plateau to nearly tie 2014 to the similar numbers this year in 2015. According to Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Kyle Evans, between January and June of 2014, 16 rapes were reported in Murfreesboro alone. In 2015 over the same period of time, 18 rapes have been reported. The final number of rapes reported to police in 2014 added up to 29.

On Tuesday, a woman at Altitude Apartments on Bradyville Pike told detectives that she was raped in the parking lot of the apartment complex at 1 in the morning. The 44-year old female told police that two black males attacked and raped her. The case is under investigation, so details have yet to be released. As of now, no arrests have been made.

As heard in past news stories, over 80% of rape victims are attacked by someone they know.
