Visit India... in Murfreesboro

Visitors are invited to take a trip to India without ever leaving the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro! The 4th annual Discover India Day is Saturday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and it is free and open to the public.

The Discovery Center is at 502 South East Broad Street in Murfreesboro.

Attendees can enjoy a day of exploration and fun as they learn about customs and cultures they would experience in modern and ancient India.

Activities include:

  • Mehndi hand art
  • Taj Mahal photobooth
  • Dress up in traditional Indian clothing
  • Yoga classes by Arden Yoga
  • Ayurvedic medicine talks
  • Demonstrations and lectures

Discover India Day is a free event sponsored by the Nissan Foundation.

About the Discovery Center

The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring is a hands-on, environmental, cultural and educational museum located in the heart of Middle Tennessee. More than 120,000 children and families visit annually, exploring exhibits and participating in programs that promote STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & math) education. Adjacent to the Center is the protected Murfree Spring wetlands, a natural habitat for a variety of fish, amphibians and birds. Located at 502 S.E.
