Wings and Rings fundraiser at Toot's Tuesday

Smyrna Toot's diners can sponsor students and adults to compete in the Special Olympics bowling tournaments by donating during the Wings and Rings dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday night 9/27/16.

Sheriff's School Resource Officers will seek donations for the students in the Rutherford County and Murfreesboro City Schools and special needs adults to compete in the annual Bowling Tournament in October.

Special Olympics chair Lou Paschall said the money collected pays for the athletes' games and shoes, transportation to and from school and ribbons.

"This is just a great time for the community to come out and support our athletes," Paschall said. "We are always humbled how our county supports our athletes."

Paschall thanked Toot's and the School Resource Officers for supporting the athletes and Special Olympics.

Smyrna Toot's General Manager Brianna Flatt the restaurant on Sam Ridley Parkway will Toot's will offer a Wings and Rings special of chicken wings and onion rings for the diners.

"We are truly honored to be part of such an incredible event," Flatt said. "This gives us a chance to teach the importance of giving back to our community. It's always a good time."
