A 34-year old Murfreesboro woman has been arrested on attempted robbery charges after she allegedly demanded money from a clerk at a local market. Amber Sims walked into the small convenience store at 817 NW Broad Street and reportedly told the clerk she was sent into the store to get “the money.” The clerk told police he felt as if he were being robbed and stated that he was “in fear.”
The clerk evidently asked Sims who sent her into the store and her response was, “It didn’t matter” and that he should give her the money. The clerk locked the store doors and called the police without handing her the cash.
When police arrived on the scene the woman told them two black males told her to go into the store and demand money. She claims the men did not threaten her or display a weapon, but that she was scared of them. Regardless of who may have told her to rob the store, she was the one who was arrested and charged with attempted robbery. Sims will appear in court to explain the situation to a judge on March 19th. She is currently being held in the local jail under an $8,000 bond.
