Courtney Barrett appeared in court for sentencing late last month. Barrett is the woman who plead guilty after striking and killing a woman riding a scooter on July 10, 2016.

According to witness statements, the suspect vehicle dragged Denton's scooter for approximately one quarter of a mile before the driver stopped.

Again, Courtney Barrett will serve one year in prison followed by three years of supervised probation.
