Mayercik charged suspect Erica Franklin, 27, of Nashville with aggravated assault, attempted robbery and felony vandalism.

Germano apparently met the woman online, the detective said. She came to his home where they argued about the business transaction. She allegedly beat him with his hammer. Afterwards, Germano tried to chase her.

Deputy Casey McClure reported he located Germano at the convenience center on Leanna Road . Emergency Medical Services paramedics treated Germano before he was taken to MTMC.

Detectives located Franklin as part of the investigation by Mayercik and Detectives Steve Brown and Jamin Humphress. She is being held on $30,000 bond at Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. A hearing is set Nov. 5 in General Sessions Court.

Detective Maj. Bill Sharp warned people to know who they are dealing with before conducting business transactions online.
