The VA TN Valley Healthcare Outreach for Women Veterans is holding its inaugural Women Veterans Wellness Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Army National Guard Armory, 2350 Armory Drive, Murfreesboro.

Organizers said the purpose of the event is to express gratitude to women veterans within Rutherford County who proudly served the country and to make them aware of services provided at Tennessee Valley Healthcare System as well as resources within the community.

According to the group, about 10,000 women veterans are enrolled in TVHS and more than 29,000 women veterans reside in Middle Tennessee. While Rutherford County is rapidly expanding, there are limited resources and/or awareness of resources available for women veterans, the group states.

The Women Veterans Wellness Fair will provide information regarding the new Murfreesboro VA Women's Clinic located on the VA campus at 3400 Lebanon Pike and other services provided at TVHS specifically for women's wellness, from preventive medicine, compensated work therapy, chaplain services, mental health services to the Choice Program, and many more.

Other community organizations have been invited to host booths to share information regarding the goods and services they provide. Guest speakers will address areas of wellness such as financial, education, family and physical wellness, and there will be also food, fun and live entertainment.
