Wrestling was in Murfreesboro this week

While the TSSAA Spring Fling was underway on Thursday in Rutherford County, so was a wrestling match. The event was held at the National Guard Armory in Murfreesboro on Thursday evening.

In high school, Stevens was a Golden Glove Boxing Champion. As for wrestling, he picked that up at age 18. Today, he is 37.

In the Golden Era of wrestling from the 1940's to the 1960's, Johnny Valentine alternated between being a villain in some matches and a hero in others. His wrestling career ended in 1975 when he broke his back in a plane crash. Valentine died due to health complications in 2001.

The high entertainment event that was held at the Armory on Thursday was part of the Arcadian Wrestling Association, owned by Leah Hulan who operates Grumpy's Bail Bonds.
