Loss prevention workers at Kohl's Department Store in Murfreesboro have been busy catching suspected shoplifters, or at least trying to.

On Wednesday (1/18/17) afternoon, a female entered the local store, filled up a shopping cart with men's and women's clothing, and then calmly pushed the overfilled cart out the front door. A police report shows that the woman never stopped at the cash register to ring up her newly chosen fashion items.

The unknown woman loaded the items into an older model pickup truck that was white in color and fled the scene. The theft of clothing rang in at $1,009.

Shoplifting costs companies $44 billion annually, according to a 2014 report by the National Trade Federation. Of course, a loss of that caliber hits the pocketbook of shoppers too.
